Biotic Pump

We at Desolation Vanguard do not simply mono-crop trees as others do. We create balanced and diverse ecosystems. Our primary reason for planting is to establish biotic pumps throughout areas that have been ravaged by the effects of climate change and irresponsible or outdated agricultural methods. These biotic pump forests gather water from the air hundreds of miles away. Sequestering water into the water table in doing so. This helps rebuild wildlife habitats, end drought, cool air, restore farm and grazing land, aid in economics, all while safely storing carbon.

Carbon Storage

Millions of years ago, the Earth was far warmer with a higher CO2 atmosphere than today. This environment created a vast algae bloom that caused a mass extinction in the ancient oceans. This bloom stored the carbon of the ancient world deep in the ocean and eventually underground.

Today we use that carbon for the comfort, safety and innovation in modern society. To prevent another mass extinction to the scale of the ancient world, we must store the carbon we release. Biomass focused ecosystems store carbon extremely well and can provide functional products made from that stored carbon. A different method of management is required over tradition and we are prepared to provide it.

Lift From Poverty

It is trite but true that agriculture is the foundation of any economy. Currently our outlook on crops and livestock is pretty bleak. The main reason for this is the effects of climate change. Of those effects, drought is the most detrimental. Establishing these forest systems bolsters agriculture to a nearly incalculable level. Our view is that this will help raise the poorest communities into a better and more stable lifestyle.

Hope

This mission has been designed to be very efficient. Our funding requirements to the effect that can be caused is minimal as we are designed to be set in a negative overhead cost. However, in order to establish that system, we must ask for donations from those who wish to aid us. The smallest donations are often the most meaningful. We are not going to be beholden to any influence that would impact our mission at any time. Together we can create a better outlook of the future.
